The Cutwind Collar (Sheepskin Wool Neck Wrap/Cowl)

Wrap yourself in cozy fleece with our Cutwind Collar, crafted from naturally tanned Montana sheepskins. Soft suede on the inside and warm wool on the outside, these collars are designed to be versatile. Can be worn over a sweater for an extra touch of comfort or layered over a coat as an elegant piece of outerwear. A hidden snap closure at the front keeps it secure. Perfect for keeping you warm while the wind is howling. 

Each Cutwind Collar is unique, and will have subtle variations in color and fleece. A trace of the sheep's pasture origins may remain (a piece of hay or seedhead, for example, that made it past our cleaning and brushing.) Collars have been tanned using natural mimosa tree bark, without any harsh chemicals or additives. Please allow up to 3 weeks for shipping, as we are making these to order.

Collars come with care instructions. *Technically* they are machine washable but we don't recommend doing so, as it will toughen the leather side. Treat the leather inside like a suede jacket - avoid getting it too wet or it will harden. Spot clean the outside if needed with lukewarm water and a gentle wool safe detergent (and actually, Dawn dish soap works well). Dab at the fleece; do not soak it or overly agitate it. These can also be brushed out using a dog brush, and we will send you care instructions for bringing the curls back. For more information on sizing, construction, and care, watch this video.

Measurements: we recommend cutting a piece of ribbon or string in the circumference listed below, and wrapping it around your/your child's neck to see if it's comfortable. The strong should fit comfortably around your neck; not tightly. 

Adult: inner circumferences of 18.5" (cozy but not snug on Caroline), 2.5" inches wide (suede only), ~5" wide including fleece.

Child: inner circumference of 12.75", 1.5" inches wide (suede only), ~3" wide including fleece. 

FAQ's

Do you offer larger adults sizes? -We may in the future if there is enough interest! 

Are these itchy? -No, they are not. 

Are the collars white? -The collars are a light tan/off-white color. They have not been bleached or dyed.
