Raw Wool Primal Dog Beds

Give your dog the comfort they deserve with our Raw Wool Dog Beds, crafted for superior support and temperature regulation. Stuffed densely with skirted, raw wool, these beds provide natural joint support while keeping your pup cozy in the winter and cool in the summer. Dogs LOVE these raw wool beds. They come with a care guide. Inventory is very limited and we are doing our best to stay stocked up with restocks once or twice per month.

We use our own raw wool from our sheep flock and, when sold out, we purchase skirted raw wool from other small scale farmers near us in Southwestern Montana. By purchasing these dog beds you are creating a value stream for wool that would likely have been thrown away; there is not a strong market for coarse fleece, and the farmers we purchase from have shared that we are the first good buyer they've had in years. Two Sizes Available:

• M/L –36" x 24" - Perfect for medium to large dogs. Quite densely stuffed, and approximately 17 lbs.
• XL – 48" x 36" Extra space for bigger breeds or multiple pups. We call these "huge" and they truly are. They are densely stuffed with approximately 35 lbs of wool.

Shipping Details: Price includes flat rate shipping, which is $50 flat rate per bed, due to the large size and weight. (So beds ship "free" but shipping is built in.) We do not make money on the shipping! Beds will ship via UPS within 1-2 weeks of ordering.

Care instructions & returns: dog beds will come with care instructions. But the gist is: it's easy! Simply keep the bed from getting wet (we recommend indoor use). Outer cover is washable. Dog beds come densely stuffed, and peaked at the center. This allows for your pet to create the perfect cozy nest over time, as the wool settles. If the interior wool ever needs to be replaced, the bed can be restuffed with more raw wool or an old comforter or pillows. Returns are only accepted on unused beds in original condition with 10 days of purchase. Do not let your dog sleep on the bed until you are sure you are going to keep it. Returns are issued minus the cost of shipping, which is $50. 

Q+A

Is the sheep's wool washed? We are using raw sheep's wool, which is not washed. We skirt the wool, which means we sort it and pull off any parts contaminated with vegetable matter (aka hay or straw) or manure. We stuff the beds by hand. Raw sheep's wool will still include some VM, as well as lanolin which is the natural oil found in sheep's wool. Lanolin can sometimes appear as a dark oil on the edge of some of the fibers. 

What wool do you use? We use the wool from our sheep flock as well as sheep flocks from other local farmers. We do not use tags or bellies; instead using wool from the body of the animal (much cleaner).

What do the beds smell like? If you put your nose to the beds, they smell like a sheep. We are sheep farmers and like this smell, as do most dogs. If you are very sensitive to smells, it may not be for you. Because they are boxed up in transit, they will be their "sheepiest" right after unboxing.
